FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Tena koutou Muritai families,
We have had a wonderful first week of term, it’s been lovely to see everyone's smiling faces again after our term break.
This week seems to have gifted us a day from every season weather wise, with everything from extreme rainstorms, to the beautiful sunshine we see this afternoon! Unfortunately we were not able to hold a 3rd attempt for the cross country, as student names were due in today for the ‘Zone’ inter schools. I do know that the syndicate teams have all offered opportunities for selection processes this week, and the children who will represent us at our Cross Country inter school event will find out early next week.
Learning Conversations:
The first of our Learning Conversation evenings is just two weeks away! This is where you will be able to book a time to connect with your child/ren’s teacher. The dates for these are Wednesday 5th and Wednesday 12th of August. (Except for Room 8, which are held on the 12th and 13th of August). This year your child’s progress will be discussed with you at this learning conversation capturing learning success from this year so far, and looking towards next steps in your child's learning.
Following the conference you will receive a written summary of what is discussed, including the learning goals and focus for terms 3 and 4 as our mid year reporting.
To book a conference time please follow this link: schoolinterviews.co.nz and put in the code GW7ZA
Parent Consultation Survey:
Please take part in our survey to have your say and provide input into our thinking towards our curriculum and charter review for 2021-2023.
In 2018 our community, staff and students came up with a list of the capabilities and/or dispositions that were thought to be the most important for living and learning at Muritai School. These were then developed into the Explore, Connect and Contribute living and learning values that you will see and hear at Muritai School today.
Your contributions to the survey allow the Board of Trustees and School leadership team to see common aspirations and common beliefs about what we treasure at Muritai. This will help us make decisions on what we commit to as a school in the next five years.
We'll be using your thoughts throughout the process to refine the thinking and the wording used. We aim to bring an update in October regarding the information collected from parents, staff, our students and also the business community, about what's important at Muritai School now, and into the future.
This survey form is open for the next week - till the 31st of July.
